Volt is hiring a QC Technician in West Sacramento, CA.

Position Summary: The QC Technician is responsible for maintaining quality control processes, testing products, and recording and analyzing results gathered during product inspection.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Clean and maintain designated spaces both inside and outside of the facility daily, including the Quality Control Lab and designated QC working areas.
  • Use approved chemicals and understand the locations and use of Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Respond to urgent situations, such as spills, requiring quick action.
  • Participate in safety meetings.
  • Evaluate finished products for quality and acceptability, performing all necessary analyses as required and according to product specifications.
  • Communicate product quality issues to Production Supervisors, Production Managers, QC Supervisor, and/or QA/QC Manager.
  • Report and act promptly when out-of-specification products are found in production lines.
  • Perform scheduled QC checks.
  • Complete QC paperwork accurately.
  • Perform environmental monitoring samples, including swabs during pre-op, allergen testing, and monthly environmental tests (e.g., Listeria, Salmonella, E. Coli, and TPC).
  • Log all analysis test results.
  • Monitor line equipment for functionality, safety, and cleanliness.
  • Perform production scale checks and lab equipment calibration based on the calibration schedule.
  • Collect micro samples as needed.
  • Conduct standardized tests on food and food ingredients to ensure compliance with standards and regulations, such as color, texture, or ratios.
  • Taste or smell food to ensure flavors meet specifications or to select samples with specific characteristics.
  • Maintain retention sample area and control sample file.
  • Follow all GMPs and Safety Procedures.
  • Bend, stretch, lift, push, and pull as required.
  • Effectively communicate with team members and management.
  • Complete product inspection inside truck trailers when needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.Pay Rate: $22.00 per hour

    Schedule: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Saturdays and overtime as needed.

    *The pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
