transforming your career. Sr Associate Scientific Business Analyst
- Research Informatics What you will do Lets do this. Lets change
the world. In this vital role you will support the informatics
needs of our global drug discovery research organization at Amgen.
In this role based out of our site in South San Francisco, you will
join a multi-functional team of scientists and software
professionals that enables technology and data capabilities to
evaluate drug candidates and assess their abilities to affect the
biology of drug targets. This team implements software platforms
that enable the capture, analysis, storage, and report of in vitro
assays and in vivo / pre-clinical studies, as well as those that
manage compound inventories / biological sample banks. You will
play a pivotal role in shaping the software ecosystem in this area,
ensuring that it meets both current and future needs of Amgens
research and development. Your Key Responsibilities: Requirements
Elicitation : Partner with Research scientists to understand their
needs and define informatics system requirements for experimental
data and metadata management. System Implementation : Lead or
assist with the deployment of scientific software platforms,
Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN), and Laboratory Information
Management Systems (LIMS). Data Integration : Facilitate seamless
integration of assay/study metadata, compound information,
experimental results, etc. into cohesive systems for research
teams, ensuring data consistency. AI Integration for Molecule
Characterization : Implement and manage AI/ML tools that support
the design of experiments with predicted success, and enhancement
of molecule potency & efficacy. Data Visualization : Use platforms
such as Spotfire, Tableau, Power BI, etc., to build interactive
dashboards that enable scientists to visualize and analyze complex
experimental data, facilitating data-driven decisions in research
workflows. Process Optimization : Find opportunities to improve
workflows using hardware-software automations, AI-driven insights
and data visualization tools. Testing & Compliance : Oversee test
plans to ensure informatics and AI solutions meet specifications
and support scientific teams while adhering to Amgen standards.
Documentation : Create and maintain clear and detailed
documentation for system requirements, business processes, data
flows, system configurations, and user guides. Training & Support :
Deliver training on scientific software tools, data analysis and
analytics platforms, AI capabilities, LIMS and ELNs. Collaboration
& Communication : Act as a bridge between research teams,
technology teams, and software vendors to align system
functionalities with user needs and manage project expectations.
Foster collaboration with diverse teams including bench scientists,
data scientists, software engineers, and data engineers. What we

these qualifications. Basic Qualifications: Masters degree OR
Bachelors degree and 2 years of Life Sciences, Bioinformatics,
Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field experience
Or Associates degree and 6 years of Life Sciences, Bioinformatics,
Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field experience
Or High school diploma / GED and 8 years of Life Sciences,
Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related
field experience Preferred Qualifications: Scientific Domain
Expertise : Solid background in biological science or
bioinformatics; Expertise in assay technologies and related data
analysis. Laboratory Experience: Hands-on experience performing or
supporting data capture from instruments in a research laboratory
or vivarium. Regulatory knowledge: Experience handling GxP data and
system validation. Knowledge of regulatory requirements affecting
laboratory data (e.g., FDA 21 CFR Part 11, GLP, GCP). Scientific
Software Expertise : Experience using or supporting platforms from
scientific software providers such as Genedata, StudyLog, Revvity,
Proscia, Thermo, Benchling, IDBS, Biovia, etc. AI Use Cases:
Experience in AI and machine learning for drug discovery research
and preclinical development. Agile Methodologies : Experience with
Agile methodologies, including managing product backlogs using
tools like Jira. Skills: Problem-Solving : Strong analytical skills
with the ability to solve complex technology and data challenges.
Collaboration : Demonstrable ability to collaborate with
multi-functional teams of chemists, biologists, computational
scientists, software engineers, and vendors to drive successful
informatics implementations. Communication : Excellent verbal and
written communication skills, with the ability to communicate
complex technical information to both technical and non-technical
collaborators. Business Analysis and Project Management :
Demonstrated experience in managing informatics projects, eliciting
requirements, prioritizing tasks, and ensuring timely delivery of

range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted.
Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not
limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications. In
