transforming your career. Principal Scientist - Functional Genomics
What you will do Lets do this. Lets change the world. In this vital
role you will join an enthusiastic, fast-paced team utilizing
cutting functional genomics to advance target discovery,
validation, and progression across Amgens therapeutic areas. Lead
impactful functional genomics efforts for target discovery and
validation Identify and implement new and innovative technologies
to accelerate discovery Be at the forefront of integrating insights
from multimodal data spanning human genetics, disease profiling,
and perturbation studies Collaborate closely with human genetics,
disease area, computational biology, and therapeutic development
colleagues to formulate and deliver impactful projects Make
actionable decisions as a technical and intellectual subject matter
expert Present research findings to cross-functional groups at
internal and external meetings and publish scientific findings in
peer-reviewed forums Basic Qualifications: Doctorate degree and 2
years relevant experience OR Master's degree and 5 years of
relevant experience OR Bachelor's degree and 7 years of relevant
experience Preferred Qualifications: Doctorate degree in genetics,
genomics, cell and molecular biology, systems biology, or related
disciplines Demonstrated track record of independent critical
thinking, complex problem solving, and innovative research,
evidenced by significant contributions to discovery programs and
publications in top tier journals Hands-on expertise conducting and
delivering complex functional genomics screening campaigns for
discovery, including coupling perturbation screens with single cell
multiomics Strong expertise with genomic assays and experience with
cutting edge profiling techniques Strong expertise on prosecuting
insights from human genetics along with approaches for in depth
biological study of potential targets Proficiency in programming
(e.g. in R/Python), Unix/Linux environments, and cloud computing
environments for the analysis of large omics datasets and
generation of custom computational pipelines Proficiency with
experimental design, data generation, and analysis principles
across a broad range of omics technologies and assays, including
single cell Strong written, verbal, and oral communication skills
and ability to thrive in cross-functional settings Experience in
managing and coordinating team efforts What you can expect of us As

expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding
Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several
factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience,
