Position Overview:

The Test Technician Group Lead oversees a team responsible for commissioning, troubleshooting, and validating the performance of light rail vehicles, locomotives, and coaches. Based in Sacramento, this role ensures testing activities are executed safely and efficiently while mentoring technicians and coordinating with engineering and production teams. The lead plays a critical role in maintaining quality standards and driving continuous improvement across electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.

What your day-to-day will look like:

• Leading and guiding a team of electrical testers, from different backgrounds and skill levels, through harness continuity checks and functional testing of our product
• Assessing the readiness of an LRV to enter the testing phase of production
• Troubleshoot, document and repair electrical and mechanical failures.
• Review the completion of critical test documents that are forwarded as part of a vehicle history book, given to the customer upon delivery of the unit.
• Mentoring and training new hires until they are fully capable of safely operating on their own.
• Monitoring employees who may be working in different areas - you will get your steps in working in this position!
• Organizing and assigning the team on your shift to keep the work flowing smoothly, while maintaining the standard hours of work involved with testing a single vehicle.
• Understand and comply with company and industry safety standards.
• Communicate with others, verbally and in writing, technical information, job procedure recommendations, and other work-related information.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Electrical diagnostic/test equipment and the ability to use competently
  • Mechanical knowledge
  • Computer Skills - typing, learning new programs, commonly used platforms
  • Mechanical tools and knowledge - both hand tools and power tools
  • Solid understanding of electrical principles and applications including High Voltage
  • Ability to understand schematic and engineering drawings

      This position is based in Sacramento, Ca. We offer a variety of health and wellness benefits to employees. The rate may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications .
