Behavior Therapist/Behavior Technician
Company: AUTISM ADVOCACY AND INTERVENTION LLC
Location: Clearlake
Posted on: March 15, 2023
Job Description:
Autism, Advocacy, and Intervention (AAI) is happy to share that
we are opening another Behavior Technician (RBT) position. We are
seeking to employ individuals interested in supporting children
with autism or related disorders in homes and schools in Lake
County, CA! What is a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)?
- RBTs implement 1:1 play-based behavior therapy under the
direction of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). As an RBT
at AAI, you will work primarily with children under age 8 (although
we do also support teens and adults), as well as their close family
members and caregivers. You must have strong social skills and
ability to communicate, and be excited to learn from those around
you.
- Unless you are already a certified RBT, new hires are provided
40-hours of in-house paid RBT training, which qualifies you to
become a Registered Behavior Technician through the Behavior
Analyst Certification Board.
- Must be available to work between 9:00 - 5:00
Monday-Friday
- We are looking for COMMITTED team members. These families
depend on us to be consistent! Please do not apply if you will need
to frequently call out or cancel sessions. Comments from our team
members: "I love that we ARE actually a family. No matter what
position you hold at AAI, you are heard and valued. I also love
that you can have a work/life balance at AAI!""I absolutely love
the collaborative nature of AAI! I also love how everyone's value
to the company is consistently recognized and celebrated :)""I love
that growth and change is welcomed, but not at the expense of our
core values as an agency! I love that everyone's input, from all
position levels, is valued, considered, and a huge part of the
decision making as an agency. I love that there is flexibility and
that our mental health is prioritized in order to be the best
clinicians (and humans) possible! I appreciate that the work
culture promotes a drama free environment and that egos are left at
the door (or at the sign in screen, if you will), which is hard to
find within this field! I LOVE that I get to disseminate our
science to rural communities and that I get to do this with THE
MOST incredible team with me."The camaraderie we have as a team is
unlike anything I have ever experienced at any other agency. Saying
I am blessed to work here is an understatement! I can go on and on,
but I want to hit these as my main points. AAI is truly da best!""I
love that AAI fosters creativity and individuality in all of our
treatment plans, and we are constantly growing and evolving to be
better. Most companies prefer you produce identical copies for
every treatment plan for ease of implementation. I have never once
felt too stressed out to come to work at AAI. AAI's community and
overall atmosphere is so welcoming and not only client oriented but
actually employee oriented. That is so rare to find! I LOVE AAI
""AAI is unlike any other organization out there (especially in
this field). There are so many specific factors that set AAI apart:
dense levels of support, open communication, frequent access to
reinforcement from one another, eagerness to learn, honest-to-God
appreciation and value for what each team member brings to the
table. Moreover, there's really just an 'it' factor that the
founder has manifested here; a way it FEELS to come to work; a way
we can be in a meeting and just BE; a way we KNOW we are being
heard and TRUST that this organization is as motivated as we are to
be happy, successful, and well, in both work and life.""One thing I
love about AAI is that this organization takes into consideration
everyone's strengths and areas of support needs for each person,
and it feels like we genuinely have a giant support group to help
out when needed!" Qualifications/Attributes
- Excellent interpersonal skills and consistent demonstration of
sound judgement
- Be positive and have an approachable demeanor
- Be adaptable in a learning and family environment
- Fun, flexible, caring, and compassionate
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have a high school diploma or recognized equivalent
- Pass a background check and an abuse registry check
- Be COMMITTED! What Else Do We Offer?!
- Increased starting salary based on education and
experience
- Paid BACB-approved in-house 40 hour RBT training
- Internal Promotions
- Sick Time
- PTO
- 12 Paid Holidays
- Supervision hours for those seeking BCBA certification
- Opportunities for reassignments and/or office hours in place of
client cancellations
- A rewarding experience and caring organization
- The ability to help children and their families reach their
full potential
- Be a part of a FUN team! Job Type: Part-time (approximately 25
hours/week) Salary: $18.00 - $22.50 per hour Schedule: Monday to
Friday
approximately 24-26 hours/week
