We are looking for a college student who would be interested in a
paid academic internship, 2 – 3 days a week at the Petaluma
Argus-Courier, divisions of Sonoma Media Investments. The main
focus of the internship is on developing a strong understanding of
what drives online traffic. This position will work in a modern
newsroom environment and produce content for petaluma360.com.
Conduct interviews and online research for stories
Write compelling local stories
Create galleries with well written and sometimes humorous
Post social media updates
Previous experience writing for a news outlet preferred
Strong writing skills
Experience in editing and proofreading
Photography skills a plus
College education focused on journalism or communication
Social media experience: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat,
