Organization:SSRRH-Sutter Santa Rosa Reg HospitalPosition Overview: -The Ultrasound Technologist performs a full range of ultrasound procedures and produces quality diagnostic images. Incumbent processes films, prepares records of service performed, makes adjustments to equipment, report any malfunctioning equipment, transports patient to and from the department. The incumbent works efficiently to maintain scheduled patient appointments and unscheduled patient exams.Job Description:EDUCATIONAssociate's: Associate Degree in Health Science or equivalent education/experience preferredOther: Graduation from an accredited Ultrasonographers Program preferredCERTIFICATION & LICENSUREARDMS-American Registered Diagnostic Medical SonographerBLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare ProviderEXPERIENCEMinimum of two years as an Ultrasound Technologist in an acute care hospital setting is desired.SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGEA complete understanding of technical principles, policies, and procedures is required in ultrasonographyUnderstanding of department and hospital policies and proceduresUnderstands the concepts of:Continuous Quality ImprovementQuality ControlMSDS ProgramInfection ControlThe ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff members of the diagnostic imaging department, staff members of other departments, and medical staff.The ability to deal with patients from a wide range of socioeconomic backgrounds in an effective and respectful manner.The ability to perform numerous duties at a given time.Ability to perform ultrasound procedures/examinations with skill, accuracy, compassion, and tact, to maintain records accurately, to follow verbal and written instructions of technical nature, to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.Computer Skills - Basic word-processing skills.Maintains a positive attitude.Understands basic statistical methods.Able to adjust in a positive manner to changes in work schedules and assignments based on the need of the department.Capable of effectively utilizing the Hospital Information System.Demonstrated ability to work independently with a minimal amount of supervision.Ability to prioritize and successfully complete their assigned workload in a stressful environment.Follows established department and hospital policies and procedures.Maintains good basic work habits (i.e., arriving to work on time, takes their lunches and breaks according to established procedures).Completion of other duties or assignments as required.Demonstrates an understanding of customer's needs.Takes the appropriate actions to meet our customer's needs.Takes personal responsibility to meet our customer's needs.Takes the personal actions required to enhance the relationships with our customers.Advocates for the customer.License/Certifications:ARDMS-American Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - The American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography, BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider - American Heart AssociationEducation:High School Diploma (Required)Job Shift:VariedSchedule:Per Diem/CasualShift Hours:8Days of the Week:VariableWeekend Requirements:Every other WeekendBenefits:NoUnions:YesPosition Status: Non-ExemptWeekly Hours:1Employee Status:Per Diem/CasualNumber of Openings:1Sutter Health Affiliates are equal opportunity employers EOE/M/F/Disability/Veterans.Schedule/Shift: Per Diem/Casual/ Days
