The General Manager directs and coordinates tactical and strategic activities of the Healdsburg/Folsom Operations within the Precision Systems Strategic Business Unit, with full P&L responsibility, and special emphasis towards work place safety, maintaining environmental compliance and stewardship, continual improvement of operational metrics, delivering quality products, meeting customer commitments, and maximizing profits. Also includes multi-program management and business development for current and future need platforms.

  • Provides direction and leadership for key business activities associated with strategic goal accomplishment in support of SBU and Company objectives.
  • Provides on-going direction that assures for continuous compliance with all ethical, legal, and regulatory responsibilities.
  • Profit and Loss (P&L) responsibility and preparation of accounting records across west coast locations.Assures accomplishment of worldwide marketplace initiatives by utilizing effective teaming efforts of marketing, technical and manufacturing management.

  • Support organization's bid and proposal efforts to capture business; works with customers and industry on current and next need platforms, and resource for Program wins.
  • Deliver cost effective quality products that meet customer schedule and contract requirements.
  • Directs assigned business unit programs to ensure compliance with financial, quality, schedule, and product performance contract requirements as well as GD-OTS policies and procedures.
  • Directs the planning, analysis, and preparation of program related capital appropriation requests in support of achieving program objectives.
  • Responsible for the identification and due diligence of prospective new mergers and acquisitions.
  • Develops organizational structures that make effective use of available personnel, capabilities and which facilitate the effective conduct of the business.
  • Develops, counsels, and motivates direct reports and high potential employees for the purpose of succession planning.
  • Represents General Dynamics in a positive and professional manner to the public, the customers, and to other General Dynamics locations both verbally and in writing in order to provide information and to promote General Dynamics within the community and industry.
  • Prepares or approves various business related documents necessary for the conduct of business. Approves documents of a legal nature as authorized and other documents such as purchase requisitions, capital appropriation requests, expense reports, financial documents, etc. within approved grants of authority in order to assure that such reports and documents are accurate or in accordance with General Dynamics policies and procedures.
  • Reviews annual compensation plans to assure internal equity, develops employee share plans,
  • Lead various committees such as Management Safety Committee, Senior Staff meeting. Requests that meetings be held and attends meetings for communication purposes, status determination, problem solving, strategic planning, etc.
  • Stays current on competition, and plans and directs sales program to develop competitive programs and address new markets.


  • Graduate level degree in business, technical, or related field.
  • 15+ years progressive leadership dealing with sales, profit and growth of munitions related company; must have Operations experience.
  • Exhibits emotional intelligence, good interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills; strong program/project management skills
  • Strong customer service skills, influencing site to delight the customer
  • Exposure to Department of Defense (DoD) policies and procedures, including contracting, bids and proposals, program management, etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong Customer based knowledge, current and next need platforms, and successful interface skills with the prime contractors and government.
  • Experience in employee development including coaching, mentoring, and empowerment
  • Acts with integrity, works collaboratively, and meets commitments
  • Directs and oversees the staff of Healdsburg/Folsom
  • Manages 5-10 subordinate senior leaders who supervise a total of 200+ employees across the organization
  • Local and national travel required
