The Director of Human Resources is a strategic business partner
to the Redwood Empire Food Banks leadership team and is responsible
for developing an HR dynamic that fortifies our culture, values and
creates a diverse and inclusive work environment in order to
achieve the REFBs mission of ending hunger in our community.

The following reflects managements definition of essential

- Directs and manages the Human Resource department, sets
direction, and ensures all policies and practices are current and
meet legal requirements. Works with legal counsel or outside
consultants as needed regarding personnel matters. Advises CEO on
all HR matters.
- Plans, designs, develops, and evaluates HR-related initiatives
that support the REFBs strategic goals, and align with its mission
and core values.
- Implements and leads HR strategies for talent acquisition,
staffing, compensation, performance management, health and welfare
benefits, compliance, training and development, records management,
safety and health, succession planning, and employee relations and
- Supports Directors in the areas of recruiting, selecting,
orienting, training, coaching, counseling, and disciplining staff.
Develops training program to ensure all managers are fully aware of
and capable of adhering to performance management
- Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues
including conducting investigations.
- Manages all leaves of absences and reasonable
- Manages compensation philosophy and structure to ensure pay

to manage internal equity on an ongoing basis.
- Develops and manages HR operations budget by estimating,
forecasting, and anticipating requirements, trends, and variances;

- Researches, develops, and updates HR-related policies,
procedures, methods, and guidelines; communicates and advances the

experience in all functional areas of HR. The Director of Human
Resources facilitates organizational excellence by planning,
developing, implementing, evaluating and integrating all HR-related
initiatives to support the Redwood Empire Food Banks strategic
goals and ensures alignment with its mission through the
