We are committed to upholding a culture of shared values that provide dignity, growth, and value to our patients, employees and physicians.We believe our hospital will provide a variety of quality services that will not only be an asset to the community but a distinct benefit to the surrounding acute hospitals.It is our vision to become world recognized for our outstanding specialty and long term acute services accomplished through quality, innovation and leadership.The Long Term Acute Care (LTCH) Division of Sonoma SpecialtyHospital is designed to provide care of medically complex patientswho have experienced catastrophic illness and/or multi-system failure and arein need of intense rehabilitation services and an extended stay in an acutecare setting. These patients usually come directly from a Short Term Acute CareHospital (STCH) and are in need of vent weaning and acute rehabilitationservices for a longer period of time to recover and return to their optimallevel of health. The average length of stay (ALOS) of these patients is a rangeof 25-35 days which is a longer than average stay at a Short Term Acute CareHospital. Care for these types of patients is provided by RNs, RespiratoryTherapists, Wound Care Nurses, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists,and Speech Therapists. Also a collaborative team of specialty physicians,psychologists, dieticians, and social workers will focus on an individualizedgoal for each patient to recover and reach their independence and optimum levelof health.is a missing piece in the continuum of care within the health caresystem.The Clinical Educator is responsible for preparing and mentoring current and futuregenerations of clinical and non-clinical staff. The Clinical Educator plays apivotal role in strengthening the workforce, serving as a role model, andproviding the leadership needed to implement evidence-based practice. Dutiesand Responsibilities: Design and implement academic and continuing education programs, hospital orientation, and a selected part of nursing orientation for new nursing department employees Conducts needs assessments using a variety of strategic tools Perform advanced evaluations and provide guidance for testing new procedures Plans, prepares and maintains materials for use in educational programs for accuracy and relevance to the target audience Identifies and evaluates instructional materials in all types of media, formats, platforms and methodologies Prepares short and long-term planning and programs to address identified needs Assess and set goals for educational programs, updating them when needed Serves as an educational consultant to facilities, task forces, committees, and projects relating to policy, procedure and program development Create a culture that supports and encourages continual learning Supervisory:This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities; however,this position may oversee clinical and non-clinical staff during educationmeetings or programs. Qualifications Minimum two years of experience developingeducational programsThree years teaching experience or coordinationpreferred Educationand/or Experience Current RN license for State of CaliforniaBachelor of Science in Nursing, HealthServices, or equivalent preferredCertified Nurse Educator certificationpreferredMasters in Nursing preferredBLS and ACLS OtherSkills and Abilities Demonstrated success in developing and monitoringsystems to manage operational work that involves a high degree of collaborationAbility to collaborate with management team todevelop plans for operation infrastructureAbility to define scope, budget and schedule foroperations projectsAbility to develop a project budget in considerationwith cost optimization and reduction goalsTrack, monitor and control expenses based onbudgetary guidelinesAn energetic, forward-thinking and creativeindividual with high standards and an appropriate professional imageAbilityto present complex information in an understandable mannerExercises sound judgment, analytical skills andfocusVersatility, flexibility and willingness to workwithin an ambiguous, fast paced environmentDemonstrated resourcefulness in providing solutionsand setting priorities
