This individual will be responsible for engineering support
relating to the manufacture of optical thin film coatings in
support of Automotive and LiDAR applications. The person in this
position is the technical interface with the production floor staff
working as a critical part of the manufacturing team. This person
will also be part of the technical interface team with customers
and product design teams at Viavi Solutions to identify
requirements, establish specifications and respond to inquiries
pertaining to optical filters. As such this person will establish
systemic solutions and processes to improve process yields, product
quality, engineering efficiency and process consistency.
This person as part of the Automotive product line will support
various industry requirements for automotive production such as
IATF standards, FMEA, PQP, Control Plans, etc.
Work closely with the customer and Application Engineering
during the quotation, preparation for manufacturing, and production
phases of a product.
Interface with production personnel to provide manufacturing
guidance and problem solving.
Provide technical leadership with regards to product
development, qualification, initial production launch, and
transition to volume manufacturing.
Support Automotive system requirements in accordance with
Identify opportunities for and drive continuous improvement
activities in manufacturing
Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering, Physics or other
related technical discipline.
Three to five years of experience in automotive manufacturing
Understanding of Automotive standards such as IATF, DFMEA &
PFMEA, Control Plans, etc., desired.
Excellent communication skills and ability to interface with
internal as well as external customers.
Basic knowledge of fundamental engineering concepts, statistical
process control and problem solving techniques.
Knowledgeable in Metrology techniques and equipment desired
Ability to work under pressure and dealing with demanding
Proficiency in Statistical Process Control
