Job Description:
Description & Requirements Maximus is currently seeking a
Director of Process Improvement. In this role, you will be
responsible for leading, governing, and scaling continuous process
improvement (CPI) across federal programs, shared services, and
corporate functions. This role drives measurable improvements in
efficiency, quality, compliance, and customer outcomes by applying
Lean, Six Sigma, and structured problem-solving methods aligned to
federal contract requirements and organizational strategy. This is
a remote position. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: -
Responsible for developing an effective Business Process team who
will manage the analysis and implementation of sustainable business
solutions. - Provide recommendations for the use of technologies in
the organization’s various departments and projects. - Oversee the
development of business analytics to identify and drive
opportunities. - Support proposal activity for new business
processes as needed. - Oversee timely and accurate reporting of
operational metrics. - Provide leadership to multiple Business
Process and Analyst teams and functions . - Oversee the business
continuity function in disaster recovery planning, - Oversee all
analyst activities, including the Quality Assurance testing
function Job Specific Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Governance - Define and execute the
enterprise process improvement strategy aligned to corporate
objectives and federal contract priorities. - Establish governance,
prioritization, and intake processes for process improvement
initiatives across programs and shared services. - Serve as the
senior authority and primary point of contact for process
improvement within the organization. - Partner with executives and
senior leaders to identify high impact improvement opportunities
tied to cost, schedule, quality, risk, and customer satisfaction. -
Regularly brief executive leadership and contract stakeholders on
improvement progress, outcomes, and risks. - Build strong
partnerships across programs, functions, and customer facing teams.
Technology & Automation Enablement - Partner with IT and Digital
teams to align process improvement with system modernization,
automation, and AI initiatives. - Evaluate opportunities for
workflow optimization, automation, and system enhancements as part
of improvement efforts. - Ensure business processes are clearly
defined and ready for technology enablement (“process before
tools”). Federal Contract & Compliance Support - Ensure process
improvements support compliance with federal regulations, external
certifications, and quality management requirements. - Align
improvement initiatives with performance targets, audit outcomes,
and risk mitigation objectives. - Collaborate with Quality, Risk,
and Program Management teams to embed sustainable controls and
monitoring into improved processes. Continuous Process Improvement
Execution - Oversee and guide complex, cross functional improvement
initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, PDCA, and related methodologies.
- Establish and monitor performance metrics to verify that
improvements deliver measurable, sustained results. - Standardize
tools, templates, and best practices for process improvement across
the organization. People Leadership & Capability Building - Lead,
mentor, and develop a team of process improvement professionals
(e.g., Black Belts, Green Belts, analysts). - Set goals, manage
performance, and support career development for team members.
Minimum Requirements - Bachelors degree in related field. - 10-12
years of relevant professional experience. - Equivalent combination
of education and experience considered in lieu of degree.
Job-Specific Minimum Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree. Additional
years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
- Due to customer requirements, this position requires United
States Citizenship. - 10 years of experience in process
improvement, operational excellence, or business transformation,
with significant experience in federal contracting environments. -
Demonstrated leadership of large, cross functional improvement
initiatives with measurable results. - Deep knowledge of Lean, Six
Sigma, PDCA, or similar structured improvement methodologies. -
Proven ability to influence senior leaders and drive change across
complex organizations. Key Competencies: - Strategic thinking and

operational rigor. Preferred Skills and Qualifications: - Lean Six
Sigma Black Belt or equivalent certification. - Experience
integrating process improvement with IT modernization, automation,
or AI initiatives. - Familiarity with Quality Management Systems

based on various factors including but not limited to job location,
a candidates education, training, experience, expected quality and
quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and

well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component
of Maximuss total compensation package. Other rewards may include
short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards.

Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be
commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience. An
applicants salary history will not be used in determining

Minimum Salary $ 145,000.00 Maximum Salary $ 158,000.00
