Modis is currently speaking with Business Analyst who has a small amount of experience with either eCommerce or Marketing Systems or Web Analytics for a long term contract role position in San Francisco, CA. You should have a little experience with a web analytics tool such as Omniture or Google Analytics or any other etc.

Overview:
• As a member of the Marketing Systems Web Analytics team, the Business Analyst is responsible for working in a cross-functional capacity to provide business and functional requirements, technical direction, domain expertise, and feasibility analysis for Web Analytics projects.
• The Business Analyst participates in all phases of new projects to aid in scoping, prioritization, and requirements definition to advocate marketing systems data capture. This position is the liaison between Engineering and Analytics teams and ensures decision makers get the data they need.  
• The Business Analyst function is detail-intensive, requiring the accurate capture and translation of data requirements (both tactical and analytical needs) and validation/verification of the working solution, ensuring quality and availability of data.
Key Accountabilities:
• Proactively communicate and collaborate with internal  customers to analyze information needed and functional requirements desired to deliver actionable recommendations and insights driven by data
• Elicit and document business systems requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirement reviews, use cases, scenario analysis, business analysis and workflow analysis. Documentation includes but is not limited to user stories, project plans, business requirements, business process flows, and test scenarios.
• Provide technical expertise on Analytics Systems to drive towards consistency in delivery.
• Work independently and with product owners to create and evaluate new feature ideas and business opportunities through business analysis and data analysis
• Act as liaison between the business units, engineering and reporting teams to ensure the right data is captured, useful metrics are measured and business decisions are made by leveraging data. Implement reporting to track project, including success metrics.
• Understand business strategy and objectives and leverage available data to drive new high value business insights
• Understand web development to ensure that all tagging and tracking are implemented correctly. Provide web development teams with required project specifications, tracking and tracking requirements, and testing scenarios. Interface with Web Analytics vendor as needed.
• Oversee the effective implementation of reporting enhancement requirements, and ensure thorough Acceptance Testing.
• Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously. Manage and keep track of all open issues and ensure issues are resolved in timely manner

Skills Summary:
• Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
• 1-3 years of business analysis experience
• 1+ year working experience with databases, SQL queries, SQL scripting for data validation.
• Experience with Web Analytics tools such as Omniture, Coremetrics or Google Analytics required.  
• Experience with CSS, JavaScript, HTML/Web programming.
• Experience with Mobile applications preferred.
• Proven ability to write effective system and process documentation (including data mappings and business and system requirements).
• Strong skills in successfully relaying business requirements into technical terms for colleagues in the application development department.
• Experience with negotiating priorities, scope, and resource requirements in the delivery of large complex development projects in rapidly evolving business environment.
• Experience working with third party technology vendors, agencies, and contractors.
