Job Description:
We are looking for a Pharmacy Operations Manager for the
Pharmacy Department at Healdsburg Hospital. Apply Today! Applicants

employment. Location: Healdsburg, CA Work Schedule: Full time - 80
Biweekly Hours Shift: 8-hour, Days Job Summary: The Pharmacy
Manager is responsible and accountable for planning, developing,
implementing, coordinating and managing the highest quality of
pharmaceutical care services for their patients, clients and staff
under the highest professional standards. Essential Functions:
- Ensures that PSJH mission and core values are at the forefront
of all activities. Promotes a safe environment of care and complies
with all safety regulations through employee orientation, ongoing
training, policy development, and appropriate documentation.
Provides leadership for the designated team to promote and maintain
high employee morale, engagement, and commitment to the
organization during times of both stability and great change in
healthcare. Helps support unity and change management through clear
communication and performance.
- In collaboration with regional pharmacy and executive
leadership, implements strategic plans and optimizes clinical and
operational efficiency of pharmaceutical care services.
Collaborates with regional pharmacy leaders, pharmacy staff, the
medical staffs, nursing departments and leadership, quality
assurance departments, administration, and other departments to
identify and develop patient-oriented pharmaceutical care services
and clinical pharmacy programs designed to improve safety, quality
of care, efficiency, and promote cost savings. Serves as a role
model for their staff through their attitude, behavior, and
physical presence.
- Leadership representation for their ministry and the region on
system and/or regional councils/workgroup for pharmacy and other
disciplines (if applicable). Collects the opinions of the region as
necessary to appropriately represent them on said
councils/workgroup. Communicates to regional leaders and caregivers
decisions made by the councils/workgroups. Ensures implementation
of system and regional initiatives. Considers the impact of
decisions on the overall function and quality of care provided by
the ministry, the region, and the system. Will represent the
pharmacy department on regional and or local ministry
councils/workgroups.
- Provides financial stewardship for the pharmacy through
developing and complying with the annual budget, maintaining an
appropriate inventory in light of increasing drug costs and drug
shortages, monitoring drug usage to reduce cost and maintain
compliance with system initiatives and contracts, and optimizing
staffing levels to meet appropriate benchmarks without compromising
patient safety and quality of care. Ensures that equipment and
facilities are maintained through capital and operational
expenditures.
- Collaborates with the Patient Safety and Medication Safety and
other teams to develop strategies for safe medication use that
minimizes the potential for medication misadventure. Oversees the
tracking, evaluation, and reporting of adverse drug events
(medication errors and adverse drug reactions) within their
ministry. Ensures compliance with the Joint Commission Medication
Management Standards and National Patient Safety Goals related to
Medication use. Shares issues and solutions with other leaders in
the region and system.
- The manager is accountable to maintain compliance with
appropriate laws and regulations through collaboration with system
pharmacy, medical staff, pharmacy staff, nursing staff, quality
assurance, and other departments. Those regulatory bodies include,
but are not limited to, The Joint Commission, CMS, Board of
Pharmacy, the DEA, State Dept. of Health, HRSA, and FDA. Compliance
is maintained through audits, education, and policy
implementation.
- Oversees and collaborates with system pharmacy, medical staff,
pharmacy staff, quality assurance, nursing staffs and other
departments to evaluate the quality of pharmaceutical care
services. Helps ensure compliance with Clinical Quality Indicators
including CMS Measures and The Joint Commission Medication
Management Standards. Establishes and maintains pharmacy policies,
procedures, requirements and standards in accordance with federal
and state laws and standards of practice.
- Manages all aspects of daily pharmacy operations including but
not limited to staffing, scheduling, purchasing, inventory
management, medication procurement & distribution, medication
safety, quality management, pharmacy information technology, and
budgetary compliance. Provides necessary initial and ongoing
training for caregivers so they can meet the operational goals of
the department. Collaborate and oversees the investigational drug
services.
- Manages the workforce by orientating and training the pharmacy
staff, annually evaluating their performance, and communicating
issues with HR or the respective HR business partner. Promotes an
environment of diversity, justice, accountability, and compliance
with employment laws, contractual agreements, and employment
polices and procedures. Works closely with frontline caregivers and
leadership to ensure caregiver engagement and satisfaction. Works
on the development and implementation of a succession plan for the
ministry.
- Provides planning, staffing, coordination, and supervision of
clinical pharmacy activities. Implements clinical protocols,
guidelines, and strong operational processes to provide safe, high
quality care while reducing drug spend, waste, and clinical
variation. Oversees pharmacy's involvement in clinical rounds and
participation on multidisciplinary teams where applicable. When
applicable, serves as the Residency Program Director and provide
residents with an exceptional learning experience. Works with local
education programs and pharmacy schools to promote the development
of the pharmacy profession.

regional or system pharmacy leadership. Skills:

- Thorough understanding of the 340B program requirements (where
applicable) Minimum Position Requirements: Education: Bachelor's
Degree in Accredited college of Pharmacy, or PharmD Pharmacy.
Experience:
- 3 years Applicable pharmacy experience.
- 2 years Leadership experience. Licenses/Certifications: Current
Pharmacist License in the State of Practice. Preferred Position
Qualifications: Experience: 4 years Leadership experience
