Organization:SSRRH-Sutter Santa Rosa Reg HospitalPosition Overview:A Respiratory Specialist at Sutter Santa Rosa Regional Hospital is responsible for both routine and complex testing completed in assigned sections of the Pulmonary Laboratory (i.e., Pulmonary Function or Pulmonary Rehabilitation).Job Description:A Respiratory Specialist in the Pulmonary Rehabilitation department is also responsible for: effectively evaluating patients and developing a pulmonary rehabilitation treatment plan, completing necessary reports to meet Medicare guidelines, teaching material in a clear, concise manner, and reporting results to the referring physician.A Respiratory Specialist must be able to perform this position under pressure.CERTIFICATION & LICENSUREBLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider within 60 Days of hireRCP-Respiratory Care Practitioner Upon HireEXPERIENCEMinimum of 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist1 year of experience as a Pulmonary Function Technologist in an acute care hospital setting.SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGEThorough knowledge of the field of pulmonary laboratory principles, procedure, and practices related to their assigned department ( i.e., pulmonary function, asthma education, or pulmonary rehabilitation).Understand the concepts of:Continuous Quality ImprovementQuality ControlProficiency Testing ProgramsMSDS ProgramLaboratory Safety (OSHA guidelines)Infection ControlComputer Skills - Capable of effectively utilizing word-processing and spreadsheet programs.Maintains a positive attitude.Understands basic statistical methods.Able to adjust in a positive manner to changes in work schedules and assignments based on the needs of the department.Capable of accurately performing all types of Pulmonary Function Testing.Capable of evaluating patients for Pulmonary Rehabilitation and developing an appropriate treatment plan.Capable of teaching in the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Setting.Able to problem solve effectively.Capable of effective utilizing the Hospital Information System.Demonstrated ability to work independently with a minimal amount of supervision.Assists in the training of newly hired Respiratory Specialists.Maintains an effective, uncluttered, and safe working environment.Good communication skills (both orally and in writing).Ability to work independently, as part of a team, or committee.Good organizational skills.Demonstrates positive customer relations.Ability to prioritize and successfully complete their assigned workload in a stressful environment.Appropriately calibrate and clean Pulmonary Function Testing Equipment.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other hospital staff members to promote effective operations.Follows established; Pulmonary Function, hospital policies and procedures.Completion of other duties or assignments as required.Maintains good basic work habits (i.e., arriving to work on time, takes their lunches and breaks according to established procedures).The incumbent serves neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.Demonstrates an understanding of customer's needs.Takes the appropriate actions to meet our customer's needs.Takes personal responsibility to meet customer's needs.Takes the personal actions required to enhance the relationships with our customers.Advocates for the customer.Takes the appropriate actions to meet our customer's needs.Takes the personal actions required to enhance the relationships with our customers.Advocates for the customer.Pay Range: 47.69-59.30The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate's experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
