Summary:
The Registered Nurse coordinates the total nursing care of assigned patients including assessment, planning, implementation, and documentation.
Provide care to patients with urgent or critical illness, patients requiring emergency care and patients seeking treatment for non-urgent care.
Triage patients according to care requirements and provides ongoing assessment of their condition, immediate interventions and discharge teaching.
Assures quality care through compliance with departmental policies, hospital and external regulatory agency guidelines.
Effectively performs the duties and responsibilities of an emergency nurse using the nursing process.
Provides and documents quality patient care consistently according to hospital standards and policy-procedures.
Participates in activities that promote quality patient care and efficient functioning of unit.
Provides professional nursing services in the treatment and care of patients in accordance with physicians orders.
Prepares the unit for the patient and procedure being performed.
Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.

Experience:
6 months of experience as a RN in a health care setting required
1 year of Acute care experience required

Education:
Associates of Nursing required
Bachelors of Science in Nursing preferred
Masters Degree a plus

Certifications - Licensure:
Current State Registered Nurse (RN) License
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred
Trauma Nursing Core Certification (TNCC) preferred
Emergency Nursing Pediatric Certification (ENPC) preferred

Special Skills:
Must be able to utilize independent decision-making skills in a wide variety of situations.
Requires a high degree of accuracy in the performance of varied responsibilities.
Personal computer skills required.
Must be self-motivated to complete work in a timely manner to meet deadlines.
