CategoryHealth CareDescriptionUnder the supervision of the Clinic
Coordinator, the Clinical Team Assistant (CTA) supports the Nurses
and Clinic Coordinators with the daily management of non-clinical
nursing and patient care functions in their assigned clinic. Duties
and Responsibilities:Reviews refill requests for Clinic Nurse,
updates pharmacy information as needed, determines correct
prescribing provider and sends request to providers. Communicates
directly with pharmacy and/ or patient if necessary. Performs
clinical quality support functions:Follows up on outstanding
mammograms andenters mammograms into Cancer Detection Program (CDP)
web based tracking tool. Runs monthly report on health maintenance
indicators such as overdue PAPs, immunizations, mammograms and
others.Reassigns labs to providers or health educator for
appropriate and timely follow-up.Assists Nurse with scanning,
faxing, and other activities to ensure that patient documents are
processed in a timely manner. Assists Nurse with case management
activities such as: patient follow up to specialty appointments, in
home support services, ordering of durable medical equipment and
communication with patients as needed.Completes Prior Authorization
and Treatment Authorization Requests.Maintains updated community
resource directory for patients. Provides lab with missing patient
demographic and insurance information necessary for accurate
billing. Maintains a high level of communication with clinical team
in regards to patient care and safety issues.Assists with process
of panel reassignment including patient communication for
graduating residents and other providers. Other duties as assigned.
Participates in ongoing training.QualificationsEducation: High
school diploma or GED required, post-secondary education
preferred.Graduated from a medical assistant program with
appropriate certification.Current CPR certification.Phlebotomy
training preferred.Experience:Knowledge and Skills:Bilingual
(speak, read, and write) in English and Spanish or a second
language that is reflected by the SRCH patient population
required.Demonstrates knowledge of compliance issues within the
community clinic environmentDemonstrates a willingness to report
any incident that is unusual or incompatible with accepted clinic
procedures.Maintains confidentiality of patients at all
timesSensitivity to and willingness to interact with persons of
various social, cultural, economic and educational
backgrounds.Basic computer knowledge.Demonstrated ability to type
35 words per minuteProficiency with Microsoft Office applications
including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPointStrong organizational
skills with ability to prioritize projects, work relatively
independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.Strong
written and verbal communication skills.Strong interpersonal
skills. Ability to work with people with a variety of background
and educational levels.Ability to work independently and as part of
a team.Ability to work flexible hours.Ability to work in fast-paced
environment.Good judgment, problem solving and decision-making
skills.Good communication skills with patients and providers:

professionalism. Physical Requirements: While performing the duties
of this job, this position is frequently required to do the
following: Use standard office equipment and access, input, and
retrieve information from a computer. Use computer keyboard with
manual and finger dexterity and wrist-finger speed sufficient to
perform repetitive actions efficiently for extended periods of
time. Communicate effectively in person or via telephone in a
manner, which can be understood by those with whom the person is
speaking, including a diverse population. Give and follow verbal
and written instructions with attention to detail and accuracy.
Perform complex mental functions; collect, interpret, and/or
analyze complex data and information. Vision: see details of
objects at close range.Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
Reach forward, up, down, and to the side.Sit or stand for minimum
periods of one hour at a time and come and go from the work area
repeatedly throughout the day.Lift up to 20 pounds.Tolerate working
outside in fluctuating weather conditions, including hot and cold
temperatures and occasional wet weather. Travel to other office and
community locations.
