Job Description:
*Position Description*We want an outstanding individual to fill
our Cost Accounting Manager position based in Santa Rosa,
California. You will manage the cost accounting department and
assist in the preparation and management of consolidated financial
statements for all company entities and continually improve our
cost accounting system. The position will report to the Corporate
Controller/Corporate Accounting Manager and work closely with other
members of the accounting team.*This is a full-time position based
at our Santa Rosa, CA corporate office and will comply with the
Company's health policies regarding in-office and remote
work.COVID-19 vaccination is required for this
roleResponsibilities* Lead all aspects of the cost accounting
function, including monthly and quarterly close procedures over the
inventory-related accounts, reviewing inventory cycle and physical
counts, and the support of budgeting and analysis over
profitability.* Collaborate with other members of the Accounting
and Finance teams, as well as senior management, other departments
including Supply Chain, Customer Service, Manufacturing and
Operations and external and internal auditors.* Responsible for
reconciliation of all inventory general ledger accounts.* Ownership
of all cost of sales general ledger accounts.* Plans, organizes and
directs all cost accounting activities.* Performs detailed
calculations and analysis to determine the inventory reserves and
lower of cost or market analysis.* Responsible for the accounting
for fixed assets and instruments, including depreciation
calculations and account reconciliations.* Develops and monitors
labor and overhead rates.* Performs monthly and quarterly financial
analysis over gross margin as compared to prior periods and
budget.* Prepares profitability analysis with communication of
issues and recommended solutions and improvements.* Provides input
for process improvements to the inventory and fixed assets
activities to support a timely and accurate accounting close.*
Works with the business to monitor on-going cycle counts, ensuring
accuracy of inventory counts, supporting documentation and review
of results and adjustments.* Assists with forecasting and the
annual budget preparation process relating to cost of sales and
product margins.* Supports senior leadership in establishing
controls necessary with respect to all aspects of inventory and
costs of sales.Qualifications and Requirements* Bachelor's degree
in Accounting or Finance* 5-8+ year's relevant Cost Accounting
experience with a manufacturing company required. Agriculture
industry a plus.* Supervisory or Management experience preferred.*
Publicly traded company experience a plus.* Must be able to meet
deadlines and quickly adapt in a changing environment.* Large ERP
system experience required. SAP B1 a plus.* Exceptional Excel and
Word capabilities essential.* Must have effective written and
