Structural Heart and Aortic The Structural Heart and Aortic integrated operating unit offers minimally-invasive approaches to restore proper structure and function of the heart and the aorta. We focus on the transcatheter replacement or repair of the four heart valves-aortic, pulmonic, mitral, tricuspid-and the placement of stent grafts to treat aneurysms and dissections of the body's largest artery, the aorta. This position is a member of an aortic product development team responsible for bringing a new product to market. The position interfaces with R&D engineers, but primarily supports senior Design Assurance Engineers deliver three main functions within the development team: (1) risk management, (2) verification/validation of systems and components, and (3) assurance of reliability, manufacturability, and biocompatibility of the product design. - This position located in Santa Rosa, CA, offering a hybrid work capacity. An ideal candidate possesses: familiarity with mechanics of materials and fluid dynamics strong technical writing skills knowledge of mechanical systems education in manufacturing techniques understanding of statistical methods self-motivation A Day in the Life: Supporting the creation of product hazard analysis Supporting the creation of failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA) Developing test protocols and reports, including designing some test apparatus Processing tests results for statistical validity Reviewing engineering analysis reports, including finite element analysis (FEA) reports Helping develop manufacturing methods and processes Helping develop systems/control plans to assure product specification conformance Performing tolerance stack-up analyses Creating material specification tables Generating product standards lists MUST HAVE- MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: To be considered for this role, please ensure the minimum requirements are evident on your resume. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science or technical field with 2+ years of work experience in Engineering and/or Quality. OR Advanced Degree in Engineering, Science or technical field with 0+ years of work experience in Engineering and/or Quality. Nice to Have: FEA experience Familiarity with regulations: FDA 21 CFR Part 820, Part 211, Part 4, ISO 13485 ASQ, CQE, or CQA GD&T knowledge About Medtronic
