Job Description:
PURPOSE OF POSITIONUnder the supervision of the Director of
Finance, this position is primarily responsible for general
accounting support. Identify opportunities for cost avoidance, cost
savings, increased client satisfaction, work simplification and
efficiency improvement. Assure that exposure and risks of projects
are minimized.ESSENTIAL DUTIESKEY RESPONSIBILITY AREA: Accounts
Receivable - (25%)
- Receive payments from districts and private clients. Enter
payments into Quickbooks and apply to outstanding invoices. Then
apply the same payment into Central Reach and ensure both systems
tie to each other. Give all entered checks to Director of Finance
for deposit into the bank.
- Collections: Follows up and resolves billing/contract/payment
discrepancies or disputes with clients/agencies.
- Enter donations into Quickbooks and give a copy of payment to
marketing to enter into the donation software.
- Invoice Private Pay clients and ensure billing is out before
the 1st of the month.KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREA: Accounts Payable -
(50%)
- Enter invoices and code appropriately. Ensure invoice
approvals, coding and supporting documents for paying bills and
processing credit card transactions are in accordance with the
policies of Anova.
- Run weekly check run and pay current invoices approved by
Director of Finance.
- Review and enter employee expense reimbursement report for
payroll.
- Prepare year-end 1099 processing and annual Property Tax
Return.
- Track petty cash and gift cards and make necessary adjustments
to the general ledger.KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREA: Accounting Support -
(25%)
- Prepare and maintain files and documentation for year-end
audit.
- Responsible for assigned general ledger reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
- Create and manage fixed asset inventory, including
depreciations and schedules.
- Submit Certificates of Insurance when requested.
- Work with Director of Finance on other projects as needed.
- Assist as needed with systems implementations and
upgrades.ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Annual Audit - Participate in annual company audit.
- Internal Controls -Provide constructive input in the
development and / or revision of Anova policies and procedures
specific to the processes relating to said job description.
- Special projects and miscellaneous tasks as assigned.KNOWLEDGE,
SKILLS & EXPERIENCEMinimum Education required: Associates degree in
Accounting; Bachelor's degree preferred.Experience: Minimum three
years accounting experience in a comparable setting. Nonprofit or
contract billing experience strongly preferred.Skills Required
(technical):
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP accounting
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel
- Proficiency in Quickbooks strongly preferred

- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to optimize working
relationships
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to produce accurate work in a timely manner

systems to support operations
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of
measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate ratio and percentages
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in
written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
